HBO

From VEEP to Vice Principals, Khaleesi to Kenny Powers, I had a blast promoting the world's most famous pay-per-view channel through social media and event activations.

THE BIG ASK

Few students knew free access to HBO GO was included in their college tuition, so HBO gave us an assignment: create an event that gets students to watch HBO GO on these free accounts to grow the next generation of HBO fans.

THE ANSWER: HBO.M.G. EVENT

To get students to use their free HBO GO accounts, we created HBO.M.G.: an interactive experience put on at USC, CU Boulder, and Miami (the U) that immersed students in the worlds of HBO by channeling the feelings viewers have while watching HBO shows. Here's a sneak peek of our USC event:

HBO.M.G. - THE AREAS

HBO.M.G. was comprised of five main areas, each with a different attraction and wayfinding sign that explained what each one was all about.

AWW... AREA

An area inspired by the heartwarming moments you see on HBO featuring pups clad in HBO-themed costumes on mini Westworld, Silicon Valley, and Game of thrones sets.

WHOA... AREA

An area featuring an epic HBO-themed bounce house complete with 180 degree GIF camera and dedicated to helping you feel the shocking roller coaster of emotions shows like Game of Thrones and Westworld elicit.

MMM... AREA

An area featuring delicious ice cream dyed black to look like a "micro-cone" and designed to provide the satisfyingly thought-provoking feeling HBO talk shows like Last Week Tonight and VICE News can give you.

OOH... AREA

This area featured THE Iron Throne was all about eliciting the awe inspired by HBO's best moments – specifically those from Game of Thrones, of course.

AHH... AREA

What would an HBO event be without a relaxing lounge area dedicated to helping you unwind with the best of HBO?

PROMOTING THE EVENT

To promote the event, we posted guerrilla-style flyers teasing the event all over campus, then ran more straightforward creative on TV screens and in each school's respective newspapers.

OTHER PHOTOS

Here are some photos of the entrance, some in-event photo opps (like the magnet wall), and more.

HBO GO - MONTHLY SOCIAL

For a short time in fall of 2016, HBO asked us to create some social content to promote that HBO GO is free on campus. Below are some of my favorite posts.
