Coors Light

In February 2021, I took on the role of freelance community manager for Coors Light. The only requirement was that I needed to be a “funny writer.” I can say with 100% certainty that I am at least 50% of those two things.

Due to Anheuser-Busch having a literal monopoly on Super Bowl beer ads, Coors was not able to run a commercial during the Big Game. This was no sweat, though, because it led to Coors Light’s AOR creative team (not me/us) coming up with something MUCH less ethical and intrusive: putting a Coors Light ad in the public’s dreams! (You can see the whole experiment documented via video here.)

#CoorsBigGameDream🏔 Emoji Interpretation

As part of the Coors Light social team, it was our job to extrapolate on this concept in our creative leading up to the Super Bowl, so we came up with a social idea wherein we asked people to describe their dreams by reply tweeting three emojis. Once they did, I had a ton of fun drafting replies into a Google Sheets doc, in real time, with the client, my creative director, and the rest of the Coors Light social team watching me type as fast as my fingers could possibly move/my brain could possibly think for about three hours straight. It was exhaustingly awesome.

But while all this Big Game jazz was cool, the tweet below was/is my magnum opus…
